Bike Polo World Champs
We were very proud to be sponsors of the Bike Polo World Champs. Take your hat off Timaru Bike Polo, what an impressive world class event. Our staff were up there most days cheering them on (even getting on TV!) What an amazing showcase of what Timaru has to offer. We had polo-ers (if that's a word?) in during the week and in large numbers on both Sundays for Brunch, what a top group of people from around the world - with an abnormally large number of beards! Beards and polo a thing?
Lewis our chef was playing for Timaru and was one of the tournaments best goalies and scored a few goals himself! (ok we might be a bit biased) Well done to all the teams.
Valentines Day
 Its on a Sunday 14th this year, making our all day brunch a very great option. We are open Sunday night too and is filling fast.
Or if your one of those couples that say you don't celebrate such a commercial day, but know that she will be disappointed if you don't get her anything even though she told you not too! - a gift voucher with a promise of a future non commercial dinner could be a win/win.
New Menu Coming
If you have been in recently you may have tired one of our many specials. The chefs are busy perfecting dishes for the new menu due before the end of the month. Keep your eye on facebook and our website, it will be up as soon as its done.
Close-down Period / Oxford Wedding!
Each year we have closed for a period to recharge the batteries and let someone else cook for us for a change, as we all go on a well deserved break. This year we will close Easter Monday 28th March and reopen for dinner on Friday 15th April. This time also coincides with our chef Lewis getting married to his lovely fiance Gabby, we would like to congratulate the happy couple and wish them all the best.
Farewell Astrid
 When Astrid came to work at the Oxford it wasn't by choice! Astrid is our niece and we told her she had to come work for us as we were short staffed at the time and in a difficult spot. She reluctantly helped for that week and ended up staying for almost two years as our part timer. Astrid has just completed her study at Aoraki polytechnic graduating top of her class and is off to London for her big OE.
We are going to miss her, but cant wait to hear all the stories when she returns. Astrid will be back working at the Oxford in a couple of years when she returns - although she doesn't know it yet ;-)
Position Vacant - Part time Experienced Waiter
We are looking for an experienced waiter who is available days, nights and weekends for approx 20 - 25 hours per week. This position has the potential to become full time with the possible view to be trained into relief duty manager. As such we are looking for a mature person with at least 6 months experience dealing with alcohol and is over 20 years old.
